Lalchand

When Lalchand was born with a badly cleft lip his mother cried in despair because she knew how hard his life would be. Lalchands mother said, “…every night he cries and every day I pray to God that his lip will be cured.” Like almost all of the patients Operation Smile sees, Lalchand had never seen a doctor, let alone a hospital. Even though the surgery took only 45 minutes, the waiting was unbearable. Lalchand’s mother had been dreaming of the day her son could lead a normal life for 7 years. When Operation Smile repaired Lalchand’s lip this dream came true.
